April showers bring May flowers. After a rainy week, the sun is finally shining again and there is more music heading out way. Owlsley’s Golden Road will be in full swing for its first weekend. Friday night, Boulder’s own roots group, Grant Farm will be performing.

There are tons of live music acts this weekend at our beloved breweries here in town. Shine, Twisted Pine, and Bohemian Biergarten just to name a few, will have various acts, fitting whatever type of genre you’re looking for. The Lazy Dog, Boulder’s best small venue will feature two great free shows this weekend. Friday night will feature Genetic’s debut album release on Friday night with Chuck Morris from Lotus and Stanton Sutton from Mountain Standard Time. The venue will host Policulture, a Boulder reggae band on Saturday night.

If you are looking for a more family oriented event, head over to Pearl Street Mall for the 8th annual SpringFest. The event will take place outside on Saturday and Sunday and will include various arts and crafts, food and of course live music. Event goers will be treated to music all day long from Banshee Tree, Hindsite, Mark Diamonf Trio and the 15 piece band, Flatirons Jazz Orchestra. This is a great opportunity to get outside and start the summer off with art and music.

Another great option this weekend (where you’ll find me) will take place at Denver’s Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom. Meeting on the Mountain Live Broadcast will feature Todd Sheaffer of Railroad Earth with various special guests on both Saturday and Sunday night shows. Guests are welcomed to a BBQ at 6pm prior to the show and broadcast. This will be a special treat for those Railroad Earth lovers like myself!
