Boulder is home to several rock and mineral shops. Here are four that you should check out.

1. Crystal Galleries

Crystal Galleries, located in the Pearl Street Mall, has been in operation since 1980. However, the store moved to the mall in the 1990s.

The shop is the longest-standing rock and mineral store in Boulder and its showroom is full of rare items that are imported from various exotic places from around the world as well as items that are locally sourced in Colorado.

Crystal Galleries specializes in selling rocks, crystals, gemstones, specimens, and fossils. And the owners source their products from the very best international professionals to ensure they select rocks from some of the highest-quality mines in the industry.

Whether you’re an amateur geologist, a crystal healer, or someone who just wants a chunk of earth’s most spellbinding and beautiful mineral creations, look no further than Crystal Galleries.

2. Kathi’s Krystals

Having said “look no further than Crystal Galleries,” you’ll find a fantastic assortment of rocks and minerals at Kathi’s Krystals, which is a home-based shop located on Almond Lane.

You’ll find both rough and polished stones, and the shop often has new and exciting stock, such as prairie tanzanite palm stone slices and rainbow obsidian soap-shaped palm stones.

Also, you’ll come across items like crystal and dugway geodes, ema eggs that are made from Madagascan labradorite, fluorescent minerals like agate, aragonite, and kunzite, and rare minerals like iris agate, olivine, and arfvedsonite.

3. Crystal Joys

Crystal Joys began life in the 1980s as a traveling store that popped up at psychic fairs and festivals across the country, but in the 2010s, several brick-and-mortar shops were established.

There are two stores in Boulder. One is located in East Pearl Street Mall while the other is located on Pearl Street.

The store proudly has more than 1,000 types of unique stones and mineral items, as well as a large range of jewelry.

Though, if you’re after a wide range of beautiful gem-stoned jewelry, you’ll find an exquisite collection of emerald rings, sapphire earrings, and ruby necklaces of the highest natural quality, among many other pieces, at Diamondre’s online store that you won’t find at places like Crystal Joys.

However, if you want to buy stones like apatite, aquamarine, citrine, selenite, tourmaline, and many more, Crystal Joys will have what you’re looking for.

The stores also have a fabulous collection of birthstones, which can make ideal birthday gifts.

Here’s a rundown of the birthstones for each month:

  • January: Garnet.
  • February: Amethyst.
  • March: Bloodstone or Aquamarine.
  • April: Diamond or Quartz.
  • May: Emerald or Agate.
  • June: Moonstone or Pearl.
  • July: Ruby.
  • August: Peridot.
  • September: Sapphire or Lapis Lazuli.
  • October: Opal or Tourmaline.
  • November: Topaz or Citrine.
  • December: Turquoise or Tanzanite.

4. Hands of Spirit

While Hands of Spirit is located in Boulder, you’ll need to visit its website to actually purchase items like amethysts, ammonite fossils, and aqua aura quartz crystals.

You can also buy carvings of animals, deities, and more, made out of a variety of rocks and minerals, as well as mineral elixirs and Hands of Spirit’s Gemstone Enrichment Collection.

But you can visit the Hands of Spirit Crystalline Temple in the foothills of Boulder in person if you want to use crystals and minerals for healing purposes.

While only available by appointment, you can learn about the purest vibrations of spiritual love and light and achieve self-advancement by using rocks and minerals from the crystalline world.

You also have the option to attend Melody’s Crystal Healing Workshop, where you can learn to use the healing powers of crystals and minerals for your own growth, healing, and personal transformation.
