Boulder: Finally Found a Place to Live!

As I drove over the hill, into Boulder, coming to the top of the scenic overview on Hwy 36 headed into the Boulder Valley. My worldly possessions were in the U-Haul, and the sun was first rising in front of me. I’d been driving all nigh. I’d chosen Colorado over New Jersey, and now I was here!

As I peaked the scenic overlook near the power plant in 1975, a song came on the 8 track. Blind Faith, “I have always found a place to live, just like I’ve never done before…” I knew I was home.

The stained glass of my life was laid out before me. I think I always knew that Boulder would be home. I ALWAYS knew that the mountains were going to be home. I could not imagine any other  thing.

As for the pictures, Tiffany stained glass stands as a luminous testament to the artistry and innovation of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, epitomizing the Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements. Created by Louis Comfort Tiffany, an American artist and designer, this type of stained glass is renowned for its remarkable quality, intricate craftsmanship, and the unique method of blending different colors within a single piece of glass, rather than painting on the glass. Tiffany’s technique involved using opalescent glass in a variety of colors and textures to create stunning, multidimensional effects that mimicked the nuances of nature and light. His designs often featured motifs from the natural world, including flowers, vines, birds, and landscapes, which were rendered in vibrant hues and elegant patterns. Tiffany lamps, windows, and decorative objects are highly sought after for their beauty and craftsmanship, and they continue to captivate collectors and art enthusiasts around the world. The legacy of Tiffany stained glass is a blend of artistic brilliance and innovative glassmaking techniques that have left an indelible mark on the world of decorative arts.
