Boulder’s Dog of the Day: Layla Steals the Spotlight

Layla is no ordinary Boulder pup—she knows how to work the camera and was absolutely hamming it up for her big moment! With her bright eyes and wagging tail, she’s a shining example of why Boulder, Colorado, is one of the best places to be a dog. From mountain trails to wide-open parks, Layla enjoys the outdoor lifestyle that makes Boulder a paradise for pups like her.

Boulder’s dog culture is as vibrant as the city itself. With endless sunshine, fresh mountain air, and a strong sense of community, dogs here live an active and adventurous life. Whether it’s hiking the foothills, splashing in Boulder Creek, or running free in the city’s off-leash parks, every day is an opportunity for exploration. Layla, like so many other local pups, thrives in an environment where the outdoors is just a paw’s length away.

One of the most popular spots for dogs in Boulder is Valmont Dog Park, a spacious off-leash play area with plenty of room to sprint, wrestle, and socialize. The open terrain and agility features provide endless entertainment, and there’s always a friendly face (or wagging tail) to greet.

For those who enjoy cooling off after a run, East Boulder Dog Park offers a pond where dogs can splash around and take a refreshing dip. This park is a favorite for water-loving pups, especially during the warmer months.

For a quieter retreat, Howard Heuston Dog Park provides a more shaded, scenic setting, ideal for a relaxed outing. Foothills Community Dog Park offers wide-open spaces, perfect for dogs who love to stretch their legs and chase after toys.

For an adventurous day outdoors, Chautauqua Park provides miles of trails where dogs can explore Boulder’s stunning landscapes alongside their owners. With so many parks, trails, and open spaces, Boulder offers an unmatched outdoor experience where dogs are truly part of the community.
