Faces of Boulder – Pic of the Day

Keith didn’t think he was going to make it to the summit of the flatirons. He’s from Pennsylvania, but made the trip out to Boulder so he could visit a friend. Keith was worried that hiking mountains that are already a mile high would prove to be difficult. He was especially worried about getting altitude sickness and suffering through horrible headaches – which have been a problem for him in the past. After hearing stories from friends and family that have visited, he was expecting to be out of breath and in need of oxygen almost immediately. But, on the contrary, he found it much easier than he’d thought to cope with the altitude. In fact, he was quite proud that he summited, and stood above Boulder with arms stretched wide, looking as if he was on top of the world.

Photography isn’t just about capturing a moment; it’s about capturing personality and a story. After graduating from University of Denver with a criminology degree, Stephanie Tyson wasn’t a hundred percent sure what she wanted to do. A summer spent photographing the zipline at the Colorado Adventure Center in Idaho Springs, decided her passion for photography can’t be ignored for the “practical” approach of a life in the office. Born and raised in Colorado, she is no stranger to the beauty that this state has, both in landscape and in people. Her heart lies with the ocean, and when she gets the chance, you can find her sitting on the shore line shooting surfers all day. During the summer, there’s a good chance she’s exploring or hanging out on the fence line at a rodeo with her camera. All other times, you can find her in Starbucks, curled up with her cat, or at the archery range.
