It’s around that time that many graduates are looking at jobs in different cities, thinking of moving. Moving to a new city can be scary, but it can be done! I moved to New York City after graduating and it was a whirlwind of an experience. Here are some things I learned from the move to help if you are thinking of moving somewhere new soon. Get an Apartment BEFORE you move there. This seems like such an obvious tip—however it was a tip I did not follow! I moved to New York City without an apartment, and while I’m very happy and lucky that it worked it the wa…

Ugh, who doesn’t love brunching? Having brunch every now and again always makes me feel very classy and always feels like a real treat. There are many amazing brunch places in Boulder, and each varies depending on what you are looking for. Here are a few of my favorites for Brunch in Boulder and what you can expect from each one. Happy brunching!  1. Snooze Snooze is a classic favorite, and for good reason. The Boulder location has it all—amazing food, drinks, a cute lil’ vibe, and a great location. If you go on the weekend expect a long wait, but just time it into your pl…

I love going to eat in Boulder (I love going out to eat in general—who doesn’t?) I love a restaurant with a great atmosphere (a great vibe in a restaurant is my SCENE) and affordable food and drink that is quality! Winding down the day at a nice place with a few friends and drinks is one of my favorite pastimes. Sometimes picking out a new restaurant can always feel like a gamble; you never really know what you’ll get, especially because there are plenty of options in Boulder. Well, I got you, because these are some restaurants you certainly must try in Boulder; you really can’t go wro…

Hi y’all, my name is Rea and I’m The Sunny Millennial! I am a 23-year-old woman living in Colorado. I love to write and create, and I’m excited to engage with all of you through this blog! I want to talk about millennial life as I love reading and thinking about it myself. I’m a generally positive person, so I plan to gear these articles to be upbeat, but also real and relatable; articles that talk about life situations we commonly deal with as millennials, as well as articles that give tips and tricks to millennial living. I know we’ve all been (or still are—like me heh) in a plac…

One of the things I love about Boulder is the number of places to get cheap drinks due to the large college population! Truly, this town is the town where you can you get a lot of strong drinks (sometimes served in pitcher form) for a decent price. After living in NYC for a year—and being scared by having to pay $18 for a single red bull vodka at a bar once—I am very here for Boulder’s cheap prices. Look no further for a guide to the best deal drinks in Boulder, and I’ll see you there. 1. Illegal Pete’s Illegal Pete’s is low-key the king of good, cheap drinks in Boulder! …

One of my favorite things to do is go to cute local coffee shops on occasion! I love the variety of coffee shops, each one having a different little pizazz and style; makes paying $5 for a coffee (kinda) worth it if it’s a cute shop with a good atmosphere. In Boulder, there is no shortage of great coffee shops, and here are a few of the best. 1. The Laughing Goat Ah, The Laughing Goat is a favorite of the Boulder coffee scene and it makes sense why. A nice location a few blocks off of the busy Pearl Street Pedestrian Mall, the Laughing Goat is a nice little oasis. They have a tiny cute…

One of my favorite things to do around Christmas is to see all the different light displays! I’m too lazy to ever put lights up myself, but boy is it magical to see a bunch of Christmas lights brighten up a street or scene that looks quite normal in the daylight. These are some cool Christmas light attractions that are sure to dazzle you! Mile High Tree This is a new attraction to Denver this year: a massive electronic tree on the side of Speer Boulevard! It’s a nice take on a big tree attraction for Denver, resembling something like a sister to the Rockefeller Chris…

Fall is here, and I am personally so here for it! Originally, I was mourning the end of summer and Leo season, but fall has won me over once again. I’m really in the mood to go all out on fall this year, and if you are too—welcome! Here are some great cute pumpkin patches to visit this weekend to get you in that cozy fall mood! 1. Rock Creek Farm A farm in Broomfield, this is a super cute pumpkin patch with some fun little activities! The best part of this patch? Admission is free! So, if you just want to chill and take in some fall vibes without worrying about an admission cost,…

1. Half Fast Subs  I LOVE Half Fast Subs! It’s got great prices on drinks and subs, and the dive atmosphere is my favorite. Located on Boulder’s ever-changing ‘The Hill’ district, the atmosphere has some old0-school charm. It’s a no-frills, low key establishment that feels very comfortable to hang out at. Kick back on the patio, drink a pitcher of Long Island Iced Tea—dubbed the ‘Strongo’—and laugh with friends. You can’t beat it.  2. The Spot  The Spot is a cool hidden gem that has a fine duality; you can climb and drink a beer. The Spot was the first boulderin…
