March 10th, 2024

The “Boulder Skyline Traverse” is one of Boulder’s iconic mountain running trails that summits each of the 5 mountain peaks that etch the Boulder skyline. At 35 miles and 10,500 ft vertical gain, the out-and-back traverse provides a long day of physical and emotional ups and downs — not unlike life itself. As a health coach, I find my tools for achieving success on ultra-marathon mountain runs like the Boulder Skyline Traverse apply equally well to life’s often challenging and trying ups and downs. The Things All Students Should Let Go Of Come 2016

December 10th, 2015

With the new year approaching it’s time to reflect on the past semester, past year, and decide what our resolutions for 2016 will be. First things first: What were our mistakes this past year? What are the things we should say goodbye to? 1) Any hate towards a specific professor – Everyone has a least favorite. It is a chance to step back in the batter’s box for another at-bat. It is a chance to pick yourself up off the canvas after being knocked down. So why are New Year’s resolutions such an absolute waste of your time? First of all, making changes in your life and setting goals is not a waste of your time. It is the absolute best possible use of your time. If you do not know what your goals are in life, you will drift aimlessly, never really accomplishing anything;... Read More

What is Your “B” Through “Y”?

November 3rd, 2014

Everybody has an “A”. An “A” is your current stage in life. It is where you are at right now. Whether we are talking about your personal relationships, your career or your religion. “A” is the point you are at-at this particular moment. “Z” is your ultimate destination. Not a lot of people have a clear-cut destination in mind. This is very important. If you do not know where you are headed, or where you would like to be, this article will be of no assistance to you. Having a destination in mind is important. Having goals is what life is all about. If you are not set on accomplishing... Read More
