The Best 11 Activities to Do During Boulder Winters

January 28th, 2023

Winter gets cold in Boulder. It can be hard to bundle up and get out of the house, but the winter temperature should be no excuse. There’s lots of great activities to do in Boulder (even when it’s freezing outside), and that’s why this list has been assembled. Let’s get started. 1. See a Great Concert. Boulder has a fantastic music scene, partially because of its two incredible venues. The Fox Theater is a great, central venue to see concerts. It’s local, it hosts some incredible artists, and it’s got great personality. The Boulder Theater is also a great place... Read More

Boulder Book Store: The Unbeatable Brick and Mortar

February 14th, 2022

Watch out online retailers: you can’t beat this brick and mortar bookstore. Open since 1973, this three-story powerhouse is a Pearl Street Mall staple and neighborhood icon. The minimalist exterior (the sign outside the store is a testament to directness: written in chunky caps, the word “BOOKSTORE,” hovers above black gridded windows) differs from the garish, if somewhat outlandish interior. This cheery 15 year Boulder resident is the Youth Services Specialist there at the library. Originally from Ogden, Utah, she came to Boulder seeking a more progressive atmosphere but wanting to stay within the charm of the Rocky... Read More

Meet Elizabeth! She was volunteering at the Boulder Creek Fest encouraging kids to sign up for reading camps this summer. “Reading is important to me because it opens a world that you can’t explore anywhere else. It opens opportunities and voices, and gives you a voice that nobody else can ever have or understand unless you put it in words.”  Read More

Three events you weren’t aware of this week

February 5th, 2017

Another week, another look into events in Boulder you probably weren’t aware of.  Let’s not waste any time and dig right in and see what you might be up to in the coming days. 1.These two authors will be speaking about, and doing signings, for their new books on the 10th at our very own Boulder Bookstore at 7:30 pm.  “The Evening Road”, by Laird Hunt, is the story of two women on the run through Jim Crow-era Indiana.  The two travel a violence and hate filled America in search of a new life and escape their pasts.  “Make yourself Happy” by Eleni Sikelianos is offering an answer... Read More
