NFL Week One – Four Snaps, a Crackle, and a Pop

September 12th, 2023

The National Football League kicked off on Thursday, and as usual, it failed to disappoint. In Kansas City, Travis Kelce was dropped from the lineup, Kadarius Toney dropped everything in sight, and the Detroit Lions dropped the defending Super Bowl Champions. In Denver, the Broncos are kicking themselves after losing to the Raiders in Sean Payton’s coaching debut. And in New York, Aaron Rodgers will still be playing with the Jets – but that’s assuming the team’s rehab facility comes with a hot tub. A look at the wacky first week of the NFL. • Tony! Toni! Tone! Has done it again.... Read More

The Denver Broncos – No Laughing Matter

October 18th, 2022

Let me get this straight. Denver brings in Nathaniel Hackett, Aaron Rodgers’ offensive guru to run the team. Trades for quarterback Russell Wilson, a Super Bowl winning first ballot Hall-of-Famer, and signs him to a $245 million dollar contract. Starts the season against a laughable schedule that includes the Seahawks, Texans, and winless Raiders. And the Broncos are 2-4 averaging a league worst 15.1 points per game? • It’s bad enough that the Broncos are the laughingstock of the league right now, but is it necessary to keep putting them on the big stage for all to see? The loss to the... Read More

Okay, Now You’re Fired

December 18th, 2018

There are certain faux-pas in the workplace that can often lead to sudden termination. inappropriate relations with the CEO’s daughter generally ends in a pink slip, turning in an expense receipt from Shotgun Willie’s is often frowned upon, and losing back-to-back games to the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns is another tragic mistake that will most likely lead to another short employment. Vance Joseph’s tenure as head coach of the Denver Broncos looks to be over. The Broncos hadn’t lost to Cleveland since 1990, but after losing to the Browns 17-16, at Mile High, Vance Joseph... Read More

Hand Me My Orange Colored Glasses

October 23rd, 2018

Doubters may look at Denver’s 45-10 victory over the Arizona Cardinals as a needed win over an awful team.  Rookie QB Josh Rosen threw two interceptions that went for scores, the Cardinals had five turnovers, and Arizona dropped to 1-6 in the standings. Sure, the Broncos three wins have come against teams that have a combined 5-14 record, but after a season full of frustration, here are six reasons to look at Denver’s first road win of the season with orange colored glasses. Von Miller – With just 1.5 sacks during Denver’s four-game losing streak, Miller called out Arizona and his own... Read More

Broncos Prediction – Did You Say Playoffs?

September 4th, 2018

Whether it’s facing rookie quarterbacks, unknown entities, or a coach that hasn’t blown a whistle in nine years, here’s predicting what looks to be an unpredictable season for the Orange and Blue. Seattle Seahawks – The Seahawks (9-7) cleaned house after missing the playoffs and are replacing ten starters from last year’s squad.  No more Michael Bennett, Richard Sherman, Jimmy Graham, and All-Pro Earl Thomas is a holdout.  Russel Wilson could beat the Broncos by himself, but with banged up receivers, rookie running backs, and a hyped-up home crowd with lofty aspirations, the Broncos... Read More

Denver’s Draft Pick – Fairly Obvious

March 20th, 2018

Now that John Elway has his quarterback, predicting who the Broncos will take with the fifth pick in the 2018 NFL draft is fairly obvious.   It may not be sexy, but Denver needs major help on their offensive line so look for Elway to select Quenton Nelson, a beast of a lineman out of Notre Dame.  You can pencil Nelson in as an immediate starter and a future pro-bowler for years to come. Actually, since we’re doing this in pencil…Case Keenum only signed a two-year deal for basically Brock Osweiler money, which means Elway doesn’t see him as the long-term solution, but more of a stop-gap... Read More
