The Top 6 Juices to Order at Wonderpress

April 4th, 2016

All of the juices at Boulder’s local and organic pressed juice bar, Wonderpress, are absolutely amazing. The list isn’t long enough, but I’ve done my best to narrow it down to the 6 juices and nut milks at Wonderpress that you can never go wrong with. If you are new to pressed juice and other drinks, you may not know what to order or where to even start. Drinking some green-colored liquid that is apparently infused with kale and celery doesn’t sound too appealing, right? Well have no fear, this handy guide will help anyone, newbie or long-time juice drinker to navigate the... Read More

Faces of Boulder – Pic of the Day!

January 23rd, 2016

Meet Ella, Paul and Clara! On the most amazing sunny Colorado day, I met Paul as he pushed two of his four kids on the swings at one of Boulder County’s beautiful parks. As are most of the residents here, Paul was super friendly and chatted openly as he played with his sweet girls. Paul and his wife moved from Oregon 18 years ago after college and have since made a home and are raising their family in Lafayette where they homeschool their children ages six, seven, ten and thirteen. They love the community here and enjoy visiting the museums, hiking and sledding together as a family. Paul works... Read More

Startup of the Month: Wu Mountain Tea Company

October 20th, 2015

It’s that time of the week again, and to kick things off I’m implementing a new topic. Once a month I will be blogging about an up and coming startup in Boulder. For the first “Startup of the Month”, I will be focusing on a recent tea startup called Wu Mountain Tea. Wu Mountain was co-founded by University of Colorado Student, Dylan Rothenberg. Dylan, President of Wu Mountain Tea, originally went to China as a Boren Scholar to study Chinese, and ended-up living and working in the famous Tea Markets of Gungzhou where he learned to source tea for a European premium tea distributor.... Read More

Earth Day and the Organic Question at Asher Brewing

Asher Brewing Gunbarrel

Late April is always a fascinating time in Boulder, because you have two holidays that many of us truly enjoy. First up, always on the 20th of every year, is the hallowed “420”, which, to many (CU’s Administration, for example), is just a major headache. To those who actually have a reason behind celebrating 420, and aren’t just smoking their friend’s glass to seem counterculture, 420 is an important symbol for national legalization and recognition of every person in prison for the “crime” of possession of cannabis. I guess you can tell which side of... Read More

The Farm to Your Table

September 17th, 2014

We’re lucky here in Boulder County to be blessed with amazing food all year round.  Better still, we’re lucky to have some of the best Farmer’s Markets I’ve experienced in my life.  Something about walking down the street, smelling vendors serving hot food, seeing all the gorgeous produce and getting to talk to farmers, vintners, cheesemakers and chefs gets me excited. The Boulder County Farmer’s Markets run for almost half a year, from early April to the last weekend in November, making for an excellent opportunity to see the full range of seasonal produce.  Many of the vendors, from... Read More
