It’s the end of summer…or is it?

August 23rd, 2019

School may be starting in a few days, but that doesn’t mean your summer has to come to a halt. Summer doesn’t technically end until September 21st, which means you still have a month of sunny skies, and warm weather. You now just have to share some of the time in your day with classes and homework. A couple of suggestions of some fun things you can still do even when school starts are going on hikes, hanging out on pearl street, checking out live music at the Fox, Boulder theater, or Red Rocks, swimming in the creek, camping on the weekends, and dartying (day-partying) with your friends. Faces of Boulder – Pic of the Day!

July 16th, 2015

Meet Alex! She is a sophomore at CU Boulder and spent the day tubing down the creek! After all the heavy rain in the early summer, the water has finally slowed down enough to float down! Although Alex says the water is still very, very cold. Even though it was a sunny day, she never totally got used to the water temperature and was trying her best not to flip over in the rapids. However, it didn’t work and she was fully dunked under a few times! Alex chose Boulder because of its beautiful campus and all the fun outdoor activities and is happy the weather is getting nice enough to... Read More

The Boulder Creek is Once Again Open for Tubing!

June 25th, 2014

It has been announced that Boulder Creek is once more open for inner tubing enthusiasts. The Boulder Creek’s river discharge is down to just over 300 cubic feet per second (cfs), which means it’s safe for tubing. It’s not necessarily going to be a smooth ride, however. Normal creek rates are typically between 100 and 300 cfs, so the river levels are still a bit higher than average. This means that, if you plan on tubing, the river is going to rock you around like a hurricane. Essentially, be ready to simulate your tube going through a particularly wet pinball machine. The Rapids of Boulder Creek are Now Moving Even More Rapidly

June 4th, 2014

Due to Colorado’s recent monsoon season, river levels have begun to rise an extraordinary amount. River levels in the spring are typically much lower, and Boulder has had to make a few adjustments because of this. For example, at Boulder Creek Fest, the normally calm river was turning parts of the creek area into swampland. The annual Boulder Creek Rubber Duck Race was even moved to an inflatable pool due to the river levels being too high. The Creek Fest wasn’t the only thing that was effected, however. The Boulder Creek Path’s underpasses have also been flooded recently, and... Read More
