Life is an exciting living puzzle!  We spend an entire lifetime putting the pieces together, which creates the picture of our life.  Sometimes the pieces fit perfectly together, and other times they are a complete mismatch.  We are all born naturally inquisitive; looking for all of the right pieces through experimenting with everything we can get our hands on.  Through trial and error, we slowly begin the unique process of creating our personal-picture-puzzle.  If we’re lucky, we are born with parents who have successfully put many of the pieces together, and they can help us with our own puzzle.

I was extremely lucky because my Mom was the picture of health. Her motto was, “If you’ve got your health, you’ve got it all!”  I grew up in a farming community in rural Nebraska.  My Mom and I would visit local farms to buy fresh veggies, meat, eggs and fruit.  She taught me how to prepare food and how to love my body.  When I was 20, I started reading about nutrition, exercise and health.  The concept of “You Are What You Eat” fascinated me and made complete sense.  Like pieces from your life puzzle, nutrients fit together, in the way that they are absorbed by cells, converted into energy, and build the body.

I have spent the last 40 years of my life, not just studying, but practicing health.  Daily active practices of “Self Health Care” are essential for growing young as the years pass.  One of the most important gifts you can give to your children and to yourself is the gift of self care.  You’re never too young or too old to start taking care of yourself!  That is the beauty of the human body!  Anyone at any age can get positive results!

I’ve enjoyed 60 years on the planet and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to share health and lifestyle tips, recipes and nutritional information.  I’ll be posting my blog at the beginning of each week, and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
