Monday Sunset At Sunrise Boulder-Style, Warm Weather Travel

January 29th, 2024

Sunset Point at Sunset                                         photo Lenny Lensworth Frieling Boulderites travel.  Summer and winter, North and South and all points in between. My rationalization for posting a sunset picture at sunrise is simple. Sunset in one place means it IS sunrise in another. I suppose that if you are a “flat earther” this presents some problems in perspective, but these are not my problems!  So I am taking the liberty of blogging with a sunset, at sunrise. Additionally, eating too many edibles can result in waking... Read More

To BEE or Not To BEE. That Is The Question

January 26th, 2024

As This Boulder  Honeybee Travels From Flower to Flower, It Collects pollen. The Pollen is the Large “Orange” Pouch Under The Hindquarters. Photo Lenny Lensworth Frieling Photo Lenny Lensworth Frieling Whether it is hive collapse or some other challenge to our bee population, our very existence relies upon the health of our pollinators  worldwide. What is overrated as being scary is the fear of being bitten by a honeybee. While wasps and... Read More

Boulder Contrails, Clouds and Colors of Sunset

January 17th, 2024

The  Boulder Colorado sky of the setting sun, lighting up our clouds with beauty and contrails.  Photo Debi Dodge Contrails, short for condensation trails, are the visible trails of water vapor or ice crystals that form behind aircraft flying at high altitudes. Their appearance is a common sight in the sky, often seen as long, thin white lines that can vary significantly in appearance. Understanding the factors that influence their formation and the reasons behind their diverse appearances involves a blend of meteorology, aerodynamics, and physics. Boulder’s Mountain Momma

January 2nd, 2024

Boulder has had the honor and privilege of being watched over by the majesty of Longs Peak. Towering 14,259 feet,  4350 meters above sea level, and almost 10,000 feet, 3000 meters above Boulder. We’re mile-high, with the 5280 topo line going through our back yard, right where our Buddha stands. The top of Longs, which is a LONG walk for some, and a three hour jog for others is a high point in the lives of anyone who has seen it from the bottom, made it to the top, or who have looked at it and admired it over decades. It really does never look the same.   Longs Peak from Peak to Peak... Read More

Caroline, “I’m from Minneapolis Minnesota and I have family that lives close by. I grew up skiing  Keystone for so long that I just felt like a draw towards Colorado. My passions are that I really love learning languages and learning about other cultures in the language as I grew and I’ve been learning about different cultures and now I am starting Spanish.
