I’m Back Baby!

I seemed to have ruffled a few feathers in my last post. So, this week I am going to dial it back a little and keep it light. This week I have been racking my brain about what to write so instead of making it about something controversial, like leaving a gratis for someone who helped you, I will consider some other options. Do I try to tackle the subject of indica versus sativa and do they really exist and matter? Yes, they do but why? The new trend is to discuss how everything is really just a hybrid or a sativa, and nothing is a landrace anymore.  However, many people say that they have to have a pure sativa or a pure indica for anything to affect them. Yet, others say nothing under thirty percent THC works. No, terpenes make all the difference. I was thinking about how working for family is such a terrible idea because you find out how your family really thinks about you or makes you think about them. Then I thought perhaps I would discuss the issue of cannabis and the NFL. Why should a sport that trains people to destroy others be against a non-addictive and healthy alternative to many of their current medicinal options? It is all so exhausting.

Then I took a deep breath and realized these are all just opinions of people at work that I felt like debating. What can I say, we all need to find an outlet to our aggression and our opinions, and this is usually one of mine. Not everyone will be on the same wavelength and, like I have said previously, none of us have spent any time in the lab actually studying this stuff.

So I will do a fun topic this week, getting high baby. Many of you that have been longtime readers will know that I decided to take a little break from smoking cannabis back in July. Can you believe I have actually made it this long and have still not smoked or ingested marijuana of any kind? Well, I should backtrack that a little, I do really enjoy both the Mary’s Medicinals CBC (cannabichromene) salve as well as the products by Apothecanna. They work well for dealing with sore muscles, aching feet, headaches, sunburns, and skin blemishes. I have these spots over my eye, sun spots of course, not age spots, that have been getting more pronounced over the last few years and the CBC balm by Mary’s Medicinals is doing a nice job of clearing them up. Also, Apothecanna pain creams do wonders for your legs, neck, and back after a rough day on the job. Point is though, that I have not actually gotten high since July 21 when I was at a concert with some friends. Since I passed the two-month mark I figured it might be an alright time to try again. I am writing this part of the blog before getting stoned.

Alright, I have just smoked weed and I am quite stoned. I smoked some Alien Dawg, a lovely mixture between Alien OG and Chem Dawg. I am enjoying it out on my deck with a nice view of the river, not sure which river though. Does anyone know what river runs through the middle of Fort Collins? The sun is out with a little mist falling, lucky me I am getting to see a rainbow. The high is a typical creeper buzz, it took a moment to settle in, I felt it crawling up my back and my neck, my neck and my back, then zang! This stuff brought out an overwhelming high that has taken me to another plane and distorted my perception a bit. The light of early fall had shown up recently, that golden glow that has been missing all summer. Winter would be here soon enough and these days of smoking weed on the deck, although new to me again, will soon be gone. The smoke smells good in the crisp fall air and it looks cool in the late afternoon sun. Beams of light are piercing the smoke clouds and looking slightly trippy, my own personal laser show. Mother Nature is welcoming me back with a beautiful view. I was a little nervous to come back with such a potent strain of weed but it has heightened my senses and the colors look really cool right now.  The immediate cerebral high has created such deep thought that I am barely noticing how my muscles have become so mellow and relaxed. Getting stoned today has created an intense feeling of well-being, and my anxiety has slowed way down. In this moment, I am feeling a little balance and harmony in my mind and body. No wonder people smoke weed.
