Otto of Boulder: Featured Dog of the Day

April 14th, 2024

Otto is not the ordinary perfect pet even by Boulder standards. His history is one of good fortune and caring people. With all of our chat about hybrids lately it amused me greatly that Otto IS a hybrid coyote and probably dog. He is a rescue with a tail tale of travel. Rescued By A Puppy Rescue Outfit, Otto and Mom Reba Were Saved. The pups were born in an Oklahoma Motel. Upon returning to Arkansas, the pups were put in groups of two or three and shipped around the country including Colorado. His Dad found him in Colorado with his sister in a foster home in Westminster. This a tale of successful... Read More

Loki Loves Boulder! From Feral to Adopt to Fuzzy Friend.

February 25th, 2024

A Boulder “wanna bark,” Loki (the trickster of Norse Legends) was born in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, Canada under a trailer in the snow, in -50-degree weather. Fido Friday For ALL DOGS!

January 19th, 2024

It should come as no surprise to any Boulderite that Boulder Canines are huge LADY BUFF fans! No disparagement to the pups intended <G> Speaking of lost dogs, one of the greatest places to find a new family member already waiting for you is at the Humane Society. These adoptable pups are not “second-class” in any sense of the word. They come in all sizes and colors and breeds,... Read More

Getting the opportunity to visit your local shelter in search of a new dog is a joyous event that brightens the lives of not only the humans who get to bring home a new friend, but also the pups who get to settle into loving forever homes. Forever homes are the ideal for any shelter, of course, but there are a lot of factors that go into that decision, and each and every person adopting a new pet should take seriously and pause to consider. There are many tests and quizzes online from places like the American Kennel Society and Animal Planet that are great for narrowing down your choices and comparing... Read More

Faces of Boulder- Pic of the Day!

October 6th, 2015

Meet Mango! Mango is a 10 month old kitten who was enjoying some time outside before the rain today.  She was adopted from PetCo in June and has been the center of attention ever since.  Her owner noticed that Mango would often be perched at the window of his apartment and try to dart outside when the door was open; so he decided that getting a leash would be a happy medium.  Though Mango still does not quite grasp how “walks” work yet, she seems happy and playful when she is outside!  Read More
