It should come as no surprise to any Boulderite that Boulder Canines are huge LADY BUFF fans! And while we will be gracious hosts as would be expected of Boulder, UCLA will leave town having lost to the Lady Buffs. They’ll leave with their tails between their legs, like lost abandoned dogs. No disparagement to the pups intended <G>

Speaking of lost dogs, one of the greatest places to find a new family member already waiting for you is at the Humane Society. These adoptable pups are not “second-class” in any sense of the word. They come in all sizes and colors and breeds, and sometimes all in the ONE DOG! Seriously, the Karma of adopting a dog from the Humane Society (there’s one in Boulder and one in Longmont) is great, the price is right, the selection is constantly being refreshed (sadly), and by this example of “Pay It Forward” Friday, we can do great good while adding to our own family in the most positive of ways.

AboutBoulder.com randomly gives away lucky $2 bills. This photo op presented a perfect place to donate a $2 bill to. If a small dog was wearing a ballet dress, I could have said “I gave a $2 to a tutu.” Aren’t you glad I did not say that?

A Donation of An AboutBoulder.com Lucky $2 Bill is Good. Donations are Good. Adoption Is GREAT!!!

Now that I’ve inspired you to run (or drive calmly) to Boulder or Longmont or any Humane Society shelter to see who might be up for adoption at the moment, consider veterinary pet insurance. For a modest monthly fee, you can avoid the horror of deciding how much a family member is worth. So donate, adopt, or give the dog your already have an extra dog bone. Remember that a dog’s vocabulary is limited! They do NOT understand the meaning of or concept of “disloyalty.” They demonstrate unconditional love, and that is a beautiful thing.

May the wind be over your port bow and may your sunscreen lotion be thick. AND GO LADY BUFFS!!!
