Photos from Pet Loss Grief Group Event at Luvin Arms

January 26th, 2022

Luvin Arms held a special pet loss grief group on Sunday for those who lost their companion animals during the Marshall Fire. I would like to share some photos of that day, which included Connect and Cuddle healing time with our beloved animal residents. Included here are grief counselor, Richard Mercer, and co-facilitator, Jeremy Moore (standing). Boulder Wildlife Studies: Even the Littlest Project Matters

January 19th, 2022

In a state like Colorado, knowing that there is wildlife around us comes to most Boulder residents as a given. It’s no shock to see a deer in the early morning, or see small chipmunks or mice scurrying about while hiking. Many people see a group of prairie dogs and think nothing of them; they’re just a part of our every day lives. However, there are biologists that are paying closer attention, from the smallest creatures to the largest, and they are always working on a variety of projects to help us help the wilder side of our state live with us too. For instance, many residents know that where... Read More

Maine Coon weighs 12.5kg (27.5lb) Kefir is only 22 months, located in Stary Oskol, Russia.  Maine Coon cats do not reach full physical maturation until they are about 4-5 years old. The accepted size standard for the breed ranges between 11-25lbs, with the males being larger than the females. This breed grows at double the rate of other domestic cats. They can easily gain 2 pounds per month during their growing cycle.  The standards are 15-25lbs for males and 11-20 pounds for females. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maine_Coon _______________ Photo Credit: SWNS South West News Service  Read More

Comfort Animals on the Rise: A Need Area CU Boulder is Not Addressing

March 20th, 2018

Ordinarily, CU Boulder is seen as a liberal leaning, animal friendly campus with daily visits of dogs belonging to students and locals alike. It’s no rare thing to see pups of all ages and sizes out playing fetch or taking a stroll, especially on the campus’ largest open quads, such as Farrand Field or the Norlin Quadrangle. Though with mental illness becoming more frequently reported by students, it’s becoming apparent? that one growing source of self-care is still unfortunately banned by most universities. Mental health issues have been growing on college campuses for years, and as conversations... Read More
