Winter is Coming, But It Isn’t Here Yet: Things To Do This Fall

October 17th, 2014

Winter fever starts to kick in around mid to late October. I’m talking about changing your attire from shorts to leggings, the decision to sip on hot chocolate instead of iced tea, and of course, lazing around in bed instead of enjoying the sunshine that Boulder has to offer. And besides, let’s weigh the odds: watching reruns of The Office or picking apples on a beautiful fall day, what would you rather be doing? There are so many activities that coincide with this season that you just need to be apart of. Apple Orchards Tired of the pumpkin spice latte craze? Looking for a different... Read More

Check Out Boulder Canyon’s New Color Pallette

October 8th, 2014

For anyone who’s been sitting under a rock, the Colorado greenery is slowly turning into reds and oranges and yellows. It’s a prime time to explore the outdoors, and with the weather being so temperate, there couldn’t be a better time to hike a few more trails before it gets too chilly. I biked up Boulder Canyon last weekend, and the beautiful colored trees made it a real treat. The Boulder Canyon trail can be accessed by traveling west on the Boulder Creek path. It goes along the highway for a short period, but then it starts following alongside a beautiful river. In fact,... Read More

Autumn releases you might have missed

October 3rd, 2014

As Summer has come to an end and Autumn has officially arrived, there is quite a bit of music that is being released just in time for the new season. Fall tends to bring about an increased number of album releases, partially because of artists having fall tours, and also because many artists are trying to avoid releasing their work during the holidays if it is not holiday music (fun tidbit of music info: historically, non-holiday albums released during the holidays are not as profitable or successful for the artist that releases them). With that being said, let us check out a number of albums that... Read More

Fall is Here, Get to the Parks Quick to See it!

September 22nd, 2014

There are few things better than taking a walk through shades of yellow, orange, and red, nestled in your favorite old sweater and hearing the crunch of freshly fallen leaves underfoot. Ahh, it is fall once again. Time for pumpkin spiced hot beverages, football games, and of course leaf-peeping. Fall officially begins tomorrow, Tuesday, September 23, on the Autumnal Equinox.  The days are getting shorter, and if you’re so lucky as to not spend part of your morning commute driving, biking, riding the bus, or walking in the dark, then you might be able to figure it out by looking at the... Read More

Halloween in Boulder

October 14th, 2013

Take one step out of your front door these days and the crunch of crimson leaves beneath your feet will send a clear message: fall is in full swing. That, and you might need to invest in a leaf blower. With fall comes high winds, vibrant foliage, trendy scarves, and most important of all, Halloween. With the Halloween season underway, jack-o’-lanterns have begun popping up on doorsteps all across town as if we’d just had a visit from Johnny Pumpkinseed. Holiday decorations of bats and witches are appearing in shops and in homes everywhere as Boulder County has begun to embrace the... Read More
