Frasca Food & Wine Among 6 Local Restaurants in the Running for a James Beard Award

Boulder’s Frasca Food and Wine is in the running along with 6 other Colorado restaurants for a James Beard award. Frasca is a contender for outstanding restaurant this year, and if they win, this will be their second Beard award after winning the award for outstanding service in 2019. Chefs from Bar Dough, Annette, Super Mega Bien and the Wolf’s Tailor are all in the running for best chef, while Leopold Bros. is in the running for outstanding beer, wine, and spirits. Restaurants Being Hit Hard By Closures Still Manage to Make Meals for First Responders in Boulder

Colorado is finally getting  a breath of fresh air after some restrictions are being lifted, but the restaurant industry is still being hit hard and are to remain closed, only allowing delivery and takeout. Despite 75% of restaurant employees being laid off in Colorado, many restaurants are continuing to stay open to provide meals for those on the frontline. Virtual Boulder Happy Hour With Your Favorite Local Restaurants April 30

People are going stir crazy without a good Colorado beer to hold them over, and local Chambers and restaurants have banded together to fix this with a virtual happy hour. Boulder will have their virtual happy hour via Zoom on April 30 from 3-4 pm, and any restaurants can join at no charge. Restaurants are encouraged to have a short (1 minute) presentation on something they can provide with the current restrictions, such as coupons, gift card deals, or a discount for takeout or delivery. $550,000 Raised to Help Boulder Frontline Employees and Restaurants

In an extraordinary act of generosity, Feed the Frontlines began raising donations to help feed frontlines employees and restaurants and has already beat their goal of $550,000. “We are getting donations from the community, [those] are going directly toward meals for local restaurants which are obviously struggling during these times,” explained Vikas Reddy, a local entrepreneur in Boulder who, along with his friend, Kyle Judah, came up with the idea locally and helped organize it.
