Top 3 Cannabis Hiking Groups

April 28th, 2018

Cannabis and hiking are a great pair. You get to enjoy being in nature while also consuming a bit of it. The age-old stereotype that cannabis users are lazy is still being debunked. Hikers who consume cannabis are a great example of active stoners. We aren’t inside on the couch. We’re outside on the trail, and we’re not alone. In fact, there are a few organizations putting together cannabis friendly group hikes. Check out the top three cannabis hiking groups below and find out how to join along on one of their cannabis friendly adventures. CannaVenture CannaVenture is first on our list.... Read More

This Saturday: New Colorado Holiday to Celebrate Value of Public Lands!

May 16th, 2017

There is a great respect and appreciation for the public land here in Colorado, and the majority of Colorado voters in 2016 “opposed efforts to turn national public lands over to the state.” (Conservation Colorado 2016). With this sentiment in mind, Colorado made itself the first state to create a holiday focused on appreciating the benefits received from public land. Be one of the first to celebrate this holiday on this coming Saturday, the 20th of May, as it will be the one of the first celebrations ever of Colorado’s New Public Lands Day! Colorado’s public land holds great value and... Read More

Thaw

January 16th, 2017

My fear of falling is surpassed in my life only by my fear of stagnation. For all of my adult life I have wandered, unable to take root in one place for too long, even when I have tried to do so. Perhaps my failure to synthesize permanence has been the expression of some latent, subconscious desire to avoid the imprisonments of circumstance. But regardless of any and all efforts, there have been portions of my years, bricks laid heavy as the seasons, during which I have found myself feeling immobilized behind the walls of time.   Winter hangs like a shroud over the days, even beneath the persistent... Read More

Calm

November 22nd, 2016

I breathe deeply as I tie my knot, looping the rope the same way that I always do, dressing it carefully so that its layers lie comfortably amongst themselves, the lengths all perfect, the tension equal. I sit down to put on my shoes, left first, pulling the velcro taught and flexing my toes against the rubber, then the right, moving laterally in my ritual as if reading whatever it is my body has to say. It is the same each and every time and it is a process, one that I take slowly and with care not to rush. The moment I step off of the ground I am attempting to enter a unique space within myself,... Read More

Faces of Boulder – Pic of the day!

November 14th, 2016

Lael sits and looks out over Boulder county, contemplating next move. How many people do you know who get truly excited about a flower? Lael is one of them. A colorado native, Lael goes to CU and he studies a plethora of things. Lael is currently in a Yoga class, he plays guitar and he makes films. Amazing films by the way. I’ve never meet someone with and eye quite like Lael. So go out and sit on top of the mountain and just think. It’s good for you.  Read More

Royal Arch at Chautauqua Park – Sarah is visiting Boulder during her week long stay here to attend meetings and conferences for La Sportiva. She is quite the mountain goat runner, especially going downhill. “It’s so cool to be a part of what they (La Sportiva athletes) do,” Sarah expresses “and to hear about their big mountain stories.”  Read More

Hike of the Week: North Table Moutain

August 5th, 2016

North Table Mountain is in Golden, Colorado which technically isn’t a part of Boulder County, but this beautiful hiking trail is only 30 minutes from Boulder and definitely worthy of being this week’s Hike of the Week for its spectacular views of the Denver metro area, unique rock formations, and location along the scenic highway CO-93. North Table Mountain is classified as a mesa and recognized by its lava flow rock formation sides making it a favorite spot for students of the local Colorado School of Mines and geology enthusiasts to frequent. North Table Mountain trail is a 2.7-7.7 mile loop;... Read More
