Monday Motivation – I Am So Incredibly Grateful For…..
I am so incredibly grateful for all of my readers. I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity that I have every day to help people fight for their dreams. I am so incredibly grateful for all of the blessings and opportunities in my life….
These are 3 items that came straight off of my “100 things I am grateful for” list. There are plenty more where that came from and I want to extend a challenge to all of my friends and family to do the same.
My mom and I get together about once a month to watch “The Secret”. It is one of our favorite motivational videos of all time. There are so many great lessons to learn from that DVD and I recommend it to EVERYBODY. Seriously. If you haven’t seen in yet, go do it. You will thank me later!
So a couple weeks ago my mom texted me and told me that she was going to complete a challenge. The challenge was for her to make a list of 100 things that she was grateful for. I thought that sounded really cool, so I told her to let me know how it went.
She texted me the number “87” about 2 hours later. She said she was “stuck”. She told me that the challenge is really hard. (I guess that’s why it’s called a “challenge”?!?!”)
She said she felt like she was being repetitive, but my mom being the awesome person that she is, she did not give up. She forced herself to stay seated until she was done. Ultimately, she ended up finishing and said it was one of coolest things she has ever done. I knew what was coming….She then “challenged” me to do one. If she had said that she “recommended” or “suggested” that I do one, I was off the hook, but no, she “challenged” me. She knows that I can’t back down from a challenge.
I am not going to try to convince you that showing gratitude will change your life. I am not writing to promise you that you will feel better. I will tell you that it made me feel incredible and it “might” do the same for you, but you will never know if you do not try it.
So that is my challenge to you. Make a list of 100 things that you are grateful for. You see, when you recognize and appreciate the things that you are already grateful for, you welcome more things into your life to be grateful for. It really is that simple. An attitude that is focused on gratitude is one of abundance and opportunity.
Take the challenge. Sit down and think about all of the amazing things that you have to be grateful for. Watch your attitude change. Watch the world around you change. Now do yourself and a couple of good friends this gift and challenge them as well.
I am so incredibly grateful that you took the time to read this blog all the way through. J
Quotes on Gratitude
“If it is a new thought to you that gratitude brings your whole mind into closer harmony with the creative energies of the universe, consider it well, and you will see that it is true. The good things you already have have come to you along the line of obedience to certain laws. Gratitude will lead your mind out along the ways by which things come”
“The grateful mind is constantly fixed upon the best; therefore it tends to become the best; it takes the form or character of the best, and will receive the best.”
“Faith is born of gratitude. The grateful mind continually expects good things, and expectation becomes faith.”
