That summer feel is in the air, and many of us are itching to get outside after a long, cold winter. Lucky for us, there are so many wonderful events being hosted in the Boulder area! Here are 6 events you can’t miss this summer:

1. Boulder Plein Art Festival

From June 3-June 10, join artists and enthusiasts in paint-outs as they paint beautiful landscapes, cityscapes, and teach workshops. This event is open to the public and you may participate for $35 an event. This fee covers water, sunscreen, and on-site food, but these events are BYOP (bring your own paints). Or attend one of the workshops to learn about watercolor techniques for a fee of $20, materials included. This is a unique opportunity to get involved with your community and the beautiful place we live in!

2. Boulder Jewish Festival

Come to 13th Street on June 3 from 11am to 4pm for the Jewish Festival! This festival features artisan booths, ethnic food vendors, activities and entertainment for the whole family. Get involved with local organizations, jog a family fun run with the kiddos, learn about Jewish history and culture, and celebrate a diverse and beautiful community.

3. Colorado Triathlon

On June 2, join hundreds of athletes as they swim, bike, and run for all they’re worth.  If you want to participate, you still have time! Head to the website to sign up. If you’d rather watch from the comfort of the sidelines, head down to the Boulder Reservoir by 7:30 am to watch as people from all over the world compete for nationwide awards.

4. Meadow Music Series

Every Monday from 5:30 to 7pm, join OSMP’s Jeff Kagan, Paige Doughty and Mark Wesson for a fun evening of children’s music at Chautauqua Park. Bring a family picnic, your dog (on-leash!) and enjoy a beautiful evening outside.

5. 29th Street Live! Concert Series

Take in a free summer concert every Friday & Saturday from May 25 – September 1 6pm – 9pm in the Central Plaza. Drinks will be offered from The Barrel and a variety of food trucks will be at the Saturday concerts! Enjoy the scenic outdoor setting of the 29th Street Mall and listen to some of the best local bands the area has to offer.

6. Boulder Ironman

Come watch (or even participate in!) this battle of wills and test of endurance as triathletes descend on Boulder on Sunday, June 10 for an Ironman race. First racers will swim 2.4 miles through a course in Boulder Reservoir, then hop on their bikes for a baffling 112 miles, and then finish with a full marathon of 26.2 miles until they finish on 13th street in downtown Boulder. People come from all over the world to train and race in the beautiful Boulder county, and this is an event you won’t want to miss.
