Faces of Boulder- Pic of the Day!

June 3rd, 2015

Meet Seth! Seth is a magician who has performed shows all over the world!  Show to show he uses his earnings to further progress his travel.  From London, to Venice, to Boulder, Seth can truly say he is a world traveler.  After watching his show and seeing how passionate he was about his trade, I asked what started him on this incredible life journey. “The very first time I experienced magic was in Tucson, Arizona. I was nineteen and I thought it was real. I was a waiter at IHOP and I was bringing food to this man, and he was showing me these tricks with these coins. The next day I... Read More

Faces of Boulder- Pic of the Day!

June 1st, 2015

Meet Jill! Jill recently moved to Colorado with her boyfriend in February from Texas, where she studied at the Texas A&M Corpus Christi campus. She has been enjoying all that Colorado has to offer, and was visiting Boulder to meet up with friends. With such a drastic change from Texas to Colorado, I asked what the biggest change was during her transition. “The biggest difference for me moving to Colorado from Texas is definitely the live music.”  Read More

Faces of Boulder- Pic of the Day!

May 28th, 2015

Meet Laura and Zac! They have only known each other since February, but by the way they interacted it seemed as if they had known each other for a lifetime. With such a strong connection, I asked the two how they met. “You start”- Zac “I don’t even know where to begin… I met this girl named Jessica on a plane, and not even two days after she invited me on a business trip to Las Vegas. In order to save some money she told me I could join her friend’s carpool. So I met up with Zac at four in the morning and we drove the whole twelve hours together. I really had no idea what I was getting... Read More

Schaffhausen, the Ideal Day Trip from Zurich

April 15th, 2015

Last weekend my dad and I decided to go somewhere new close to Zurich. We wanted to go somewhere on the train, but not too far away, and not too expensive. Switzerland is notorious for being outrageously expensive and their trains are no exception. A one-hour ride can cost you upwards of 30 Swiss Franks each way. After a few days of thinking my dad had a brilliant idea for our weekend day-trip, Schaffhausen! Schaffhausen is a small city located about 45 minutes by train from Zurich. It’s most known for being home to Europe’s largest waterfall, Rhine falls. Also, not to be overlooked is the... Read More

Creating Spring Break – And That’s A Wrap!

March 27th, 2015

Us Buffaloes seem to be creative in establishing a spring break plan; or lack thereof. It seems that many of us have moved away from the pre-determined vacations, and instead, built our own maps. The exciting thing about building a “map”, is that plans can be limitless. You can begin in Boulder and head to Lake Tahoe, California, but on the way, stop in Moab to climb the Arch…and maybe in Vegas on the drive home. Why would we need all-inclusive when we have our own imaginations? These Buffs have ventured outside of the so-called “typical” spring break locations and... Read More

March 20th, 2015

With Spring Break beginning, student brace themselves for a week of school-free enjoyment. This relieving of class time though, is fronted by midterms and project deadlines. How exactly do CU students celebrate their week of relaxation and relieving of the school time blues? Whether it be pitching a tent or stepping into an all-inclusive resort, us Buffs know how to Spring Break. Elle Donovan, although not a Buffalo, came across the chance of a lifetime this spring break: The chance to travel to the Bahamas, for an all-inclusive, totally paid for, spring break. The catch? Elle, a Junior at the... Read More
