The holiday season is at its peak! Feasts are being prepared, fires are being stoked, and stoners are gathering for drinks & a festive toke! Excuse my lyrical words, as I simply couldn’t resist! I am writing to you from my living room where kittens are sleeping, the Christmas tree glowing, and Dr. Suess’ The Grinch is playing in the background.

When you put aside the termites in his smile and the garlic in his soul, The Grinch truly knew what was up! Whilst stealing the roast beast, he also snagged the last can of who hash!

Hash has been a consistent trend in the past 40 years. However, the ways of smoking hash have definitely developed! The classic bubble hash mountain cap on a bowl of flower is still a favorite, but people are now taking dabs and my preferred form of hash is in a hash oil vaporizer pen.

There are so many different types of vaporizer pens. Some, the smoker refills with hash for each use. Others require a disposable hash oil cartridge. Personally, for my crazy high-speed life style where there is not time to stop and refill, the disposable pens are, well, perfect! And, my favorite company is Aspen.

The design sleek and the size of a pencil. It usually costs about $20 and you only buy this part once! It charges by a USB charger which comes with the pen at purchase. The disposable cartridges come in 250 or 500 milligrams which are sativa or indica specific–they even provide a hybrid for those who are looking for that in-between high. These cartidges will run $40-$60 depending on where you shop! My 500mg Aspen cartidge usually lasts throughout a month in my life in which weeks consists of four 11-hour work days, an eight hour day of snowboarding, and a night or two out on the town.

There are two other elements of vape pens that I appreciate. To start, vaporizing cannabis is a bit easier on the old lungs. For example, charging through over two feet of fresh powder at Copper on Monday would have been far more difficult on my lungs if I had been smoking joints instead of my Aspen. Being on the mountain leads me right into the second positive point of the vape pen–it’s essentially scentless. Snowboarding is my church and I’ll be damned if I lose my pass because someone smelled my reefer on the chairlift. The vape pen allows me to use cannabis discreetly on the mountain.

I hope that in your cannabis adventure, you give the Aspen vape pen a chance! The Oxford Dictionary did name “vape” the word of the year! However, my highest of hopes on the eve of Christmas day is that you are with family enjoying good health, fine cocktails, and great cannabis.

Happy Holidaze!
