Meet Brannen, Daniel, Carter, Thomas, Johnny, and Dennis (pictured left to right), the six-member band of FutureBirds. This indie rock band started their career back in 2008 out of Athens, GA and ended up playing at a local show this past Friday and Saturday night. The band is known for their unique country-rock infused sound and high energy shows; those qualities definitely showed this weekend. Fat Tuesday is getting closer, and Centro Latin Kitchen is starting it’s celebrations this Friday, February 5th. This event is going through till Tuesday, February 9th. This event is an all out Brazilian Carnival. They will be honoring the holiday with Brazilian street food, traditional Brazilian music and a DJ. For a lesson in etiquette and kicking zombie ass, Chem 140 is having an advanced screening of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies this Thursday at 7:00 pm. This is part of their Council Film Series. Admission is free and so is the popcorn. From 7:30-8:00 pm on Thursday, Boulder Book store is having Gayl Gray’s “Artscape Boulder, CO” talk and book signing.
