Faces of Boulder- Pic of the Day!

April 15th, 2022

Meet Jade! Jade is from Lyons, Colorado but is living in Boulder while earning his Art and Japanese degrees.  Jade says that his degrees are very complimentary because he can use his knowledge and technique from Japanese to enhance his art and vice versa!  Jade’s focus in art is mainly painting and drawing and uses watercolors to achieve his Japanese inspired aesthetic.  His work is arranged in a style much like comic books, however excludes dialog to leave room for interpretation. The main themes Jade uses are existentialism as well as introspection to show the wide range of human thought.  Read More

Faces of Boulder – Trius!

March 4th, 2022

Trius has never liked jobs that makes him unhappy. There’s no point to get up and go work for something that doesn’t fill you with passion and joy.  There are interactions that would have never been made if he didn’t go out into the world and create his art. Not only create art, but re-create himself into someone he whole-heartedly believed he is meant to be. Being trained in Realistic Art People’s faces, he sees each face is different, equipped with a new personality that makes up the characteristics on the face sort of like everybody has their own finger print! Thanks... Read More

Faces of Boulder ~ Hannah ~ 5th generation Boulder native

February 20th, 2022

This girl has Boulder written all over her. The Boulder atmosphere and beauty runs through her veins. Hannah loves skiing and passionately played softball for some time in  here life. It’s so ironic how you can just catch good vibes from people, because she felt like I was a cool guy from the vibes she caught from me, and she was an umpire on college level. She acquired a tattoo of the flatiron on her shoulder as a constant reminder of where she’s from and how amazing it is to be from a place where people come to tour almost everyday. Hannah says she always wanted to be here in Boulder... Read More

Faces of Boulder – Pic of the Day

February 10th, 2022

Meet Shelby! “I’ve lived in Boulder for five years now. I studied Environmental Design with an emphasis in Landscape Architecture and a Minor in Studio Arts. This past year I stopped working on my art and now that I’m finally done with school this is one of the things I am most excited for; hanging out in the backyard, listening to music and creating the art that I love.”      Read More

Faces of Boulder – Pic of the Day

May 16th, 2020

I met Meredith last week at Blue Rose Tattoo parlor on University Hill in Boulder. Meredith moved here from Florida and pursued her passion in body art and piercings. After working in the Denver location for a while, she transferred to the Boulder location and loves it. She loves meeting and talking to new people while doing her job, but what she loves the most about it is that she can leave a positive, lasting memory on someone. Meredith moved to Boulder because she was tired of Florida and tired of the East Coast. She said her favorite things about Boulder are, “low humidity, low judgement.”... Read More

Faces of Boulder – Pic of The Day!

May 13th, 2020

Thomas is 74 years old and is from Denver, Colorado. In the good year of 1962, Thomas decided to move to Boulder. Thomas knew Boulder would be a great place for growth and self realization. It was also a place of career opportunities. Science, being one of his first loves, was also much appreciated at a university such as  CU. He used to be marathon runner, but when he had to stop running, he got himself a road bike to keep me active and getting out in the world. Exercise also! “I Love being outside and being with people. Using the talent God has given me to create art. Interaction with... Read More

I know we’ve all been (or still are—like me heh) in a place... Read More

Faces of Denver – Matt

November 30th, 2017

Meet Matt.  Matt is a local artist who relocated to Boulder from Austin, Texas last March after a realization sparked a wave of inspiration for his artwork. Matt grew up in Corpus Christie, Texas with two brothers considerably older than himself, which played a crucial role in Matt’s initial plunge into the world of art. Because of the age gap, Matt and his brothers didn’t always have similar interests when he was younger.  So, when his brothers were out on the football field with their friends, Matt would head to the library or arcade to get lost in the world of Todd Mcfarlane’s horror-fantasy... Read More
