Environmental Events

April 16th, 2017

I don’t know about anyone else, but the middle of April always feels kind of bland.  Nothing really special seems to be going on, and we’re in that almost but not quite spring part of the year, so I thought I’d change things up again for this week and have a theme.  This week, we’re looking at events that have to do with sustainability and protecting the environment.  That may sound boring, but I think you’ll find at least one of these events interesting. Starting with Tuesday the 18th, the Boulder Theater is presenting the Recycled Runway for the 8th year in a row.  Hosted by The... Read More

Faces of Boulder – Pic of the Day!

March 13th, 2017

Kat is not a Boulder native, but she loves the focus on the arts and the eclecticism that Boulder has. She’s been writing for Elephant Journal for sometime, and since they’re headquartered in Boulder she figured that this was the perfect time to come check them out. Elephant Journal is the world’s leading online magazine for mindful living. She’s from South Africa, and speaks a little Afrikaans. What are some swear words? “Ek moet jou vermoor” means I’m going to kill you. “I can’t believe I came all the way to Boulder to teach someone how to say I’m going to kill you in Afrikaans.”... Read More

Events to treat all senses

March 5th, 2017

Here I am again with so much to say about these under advertised events that I just want to get straight into them.  I will say this, though: This month’s events are a treat for all senses.  Come see what I mean.   Throughout the entire month of March the Boulder Dinner Theater is putting on their performance of Disenchanted.  This comedic parody of classic fairytales turns all the classic tropes about princess we know on their heads.  This musical features all the Disney princesses becoming fed up with how they’re being presented in today’s media and join together to reclaim their... Read More

It’s the last full week of the month, and there are some real gems going on that, for whatever reason, are not getting a lot of exposure.  If you want the inside scoop on some lesser known, but fantastic, events this week then you’ve come to the right place. 1.On February 23rd at the Terrain Collective Inc Studio is your chance to experience Pockitudes Storytelling.  These are stories told by people from our own community about life, challenges, hope, redemption, and so much more.  Pockitudes has become a space for anyone to share their stories.  This event will run from 7-9pm and will... Read More

Three Exciting Events This Week

February 12th, 2017

February always moves quick, so it’s important to make sure and keep up with the events going on before the month is over.  If you haven’t already gone out and checked out something new and exciting this month, let these three suggestions be your guide. The renowned Sculptor Kevin Box will be presenting his work at SmithKlein Gallery on February 14th from 2-6pm.  Kevin Box begins his work with a single sheet of paper, a clean slate in his eyes, and works to bring out the potential of that clean slate in each precise fold he makes.  Despite their paper like appearance, the final products... Read More

Events worth your time this February

January 29th, 2017

As January comes to a close, we look to February for excitement, but what does the beginning of this month have in store?  The more important question may even be: what’s in store that’s worth my time?  The answer to that question may have been difficult to answer before, but with this list of coming events, the answer’s never been more clear. Here’s the top events to kick off February.   The Nile Project is a group that combines the traditions of 11 countries along the path of Africa’s Nile River basin.  This colorful and thumping mix of music is meant to break all language... Read More
