I am happy to share that we’re headed to see Boulder‘s Own Lady Buffs play USC this afternoon. However, that limits my time window for writing this Featured Dog blog. So I figured out that I just have to write about a short dog. In fact, about the SHORTEST DOG! Hint: Fido approves.  Apparently the shortest-on-average dog is our own Chihuahua! Our Official Dog Mascot, Fido, approves of this re-visiting of the generally shortest dog. The Chihuahua Is Short In Stature And Tall In Love. Chihuahuas are known for their small size, with an average height of about 6 to 9 inches (15 to 23... Read More

Lady Buffs Friday Night: Boulder’s Own 100% Athletes with 100% Heart!

January 19th, 2024

First, the less good news. Boulder‘s beloved and respected Lady Buffs were beaten tonight. Now for the rest of the story. WHAT A GAME!!! The score was within a couple of points or tied for most of the game. Only at the end did UCLA pull ahead. The fantastic crowd expressed verbal displeasure with some of the officiating. From what I could see, I’m with the crowd on this one. And what a crowd it was! 11,600 people, ALL of whom were a pleasure to share the room with. While of course disappointed that our Lady Buffs did not win this one, the game was fantastic, and the entire evening... Read More

Fido Friday For ALL DOGS!

January 19th, 2024

It should come as no surprise to any Boulderite that Boulder Canines are huge LADY BUFF fans! And while we will be gracious hosts as would be expected of Boulder, UCLA will leave town having lost to the Lady Buffs. They’ll leave with their tails between their legs, like lost abandoned dogs. No disparagement to the pups intended <G> Speaking of lost dogs, one of the greatest places to find a new family member already waiting for you is at the Humane Society. These adoptable pups are not “second-class” in any sense of the word. They come in all sizes and colors and breeds,... Read More

Balmy Boulder Back to SPRING! BUFFS BACK FRIDAY!

January 18th, 2024

Lensworth Photo How Cold IS negative 10 degrees F, -23 degrees C? 43 Degrees F. 6 deg C. is more than 50 degrees F above our lows of the last couple of days. For perspective, think of that as similar to going from 60 deg F to 110 deg. F. 15 deg C to 43 deg. C. Try BBQ on a day when it is 50 or 60 degrees colder than a summer BBQ!  Try cooking in your oven at 350 deg. F instead of a desired 400 Deg F. BIG DIFFERENCE! Lensworth Photo Now that we know just how cold it was, and just how warm it will be today, let’s continue to be uplifted this morning by the rising sun and by the rising Lady... Read More
