CU Buffs Win Predicts a Successful Season

September 10th, 2019

The Buffs slaughtered Nebraska this past weekend in a 34-31 overtime comeback victory. First year head coach Mel Tucker said he wasn’t afraid his team wouldn’t win, even when they were behind by more than 17 points. “These are long games now. There’s no need to get nervous, you just want to play the next play.” The team has been hard at work since the summer, and Tucker expected Nebraska to have a difficult second half due to the high altitude at Folsom Field. Wide receiver K.D. Nixon said, “I don’t think nobody outside this football team could play with the... Read More

Who Would Win In A Fight?

August 30th, 2019

The Rocky Mountain Showdown has notoriously brought out the worst (or best) of the rivalry between CU and CSU. Each year, the Rams and Buffs compete not only on the field but off the field, too. Students wear their schools gear, talk mad sh** to each other, and pray that their team wins. This year, the CSU mascot Cam the Ram died before making it to Sports Authority Field. Some think that his death was a bad omen, causing the Ram’s to lose the game, while others believe that Cam sacrificed himself for the sins of the CSU kicker. Either way though, the Buffs came out on top this year. The... Read More

One team will go home with the trophy, the rings, and bragging rights as Super Bowl Champions for the year. There’s sure to be some incredible plays, a few amazing runs and receptions, and a whole lot of high contact hits. Several NFL players suffer from a variety... Read More

May 12th, 2018

The NFL and cannabis has been a hot topic for some time now. Highlighted in Season 2 of the Netflix show, Disjointed, the Gridiron Cannabis Coalition got to make a public service announcement calling for the use of cannabis over opioids. The Gridiron Cannabis Coalition’s “mission is committed to the evolution of the natural healing elements... Read More

As Brock Osweiler failed to impress, Paxton Lynch failed to improve, and Trevor Siemian failed to make the game day roster, the Denver Broncos set their sights on next year to figure out their quarterback issues. Whether John Elway believes Denver is in a rebuilding stage or a few players away, finding a franchise quarterback for next year won’t be easy. Siemian or Lynch?

May 30th, 2017

It is never too early to discuss Bronco football, and the topic is a familiar one. Who should be the Broncos starting quarterback on opening day? Trevor Siemian or Paxton Lynch? The Siemian doubters may question his health, his 7th round pedigree, and his questionable upside. The Lynch supporters may look at the strong-armed, 6’7, first rounder Lynch as the answer to the offensive woes of last year. But here are five reasons that Trevor Siemian is the obvious choice for opening day. 1) Experience – Trevor Siemian has started in 14 games for the Denver Broncos. That generally translates... Read More

Colorado’s Top Five Sporting Events

May 7th, 2017

It’s May, which means Rockies baseball. Mathematically, our boys are still in it, but there’s an outside chance that the game will be snowed out. Take advantage of the beautiful weather, the gorgeous stadium, the great Micro-Brews, and the Rocky Mountain oysters served in right field.  Better be quick.  We’re usually eliminated by the All-Star break. Marching with the band on Pearl Street, tailgating at Franklin Field, watching Ralphie run, and hanging with your alumni friends as you think back about the golden years of 5th downs, McCartney, and National Championships. ... Read More
