Columnist Bio Page: Guide on how you can impress our new blogger with his/her own bio page
Go to the left side of our wordpress page, where the tool kits are. Go down to “Publish Toolbox” and move your cursor over it. Go right and move your cursor to the newly popped up options, click “Embed Codes”. The very top where it says “Please select experts”, pick the columnist you want to create the bio for from the drop down menu.(Make sure he/she is an editor for our site already) The first line below the expert, where it says “display a list of Experts”, copy the line of code to the left of it.(Example: Sorry! No user found for: JohnJohnson)
Go back to the tool kit on the very left of our wordpress page and go up to “Pages”. Move your cursor over it and click “Add New”. This will take you to a new page, enter the columnist’s name into the “Enter title here” box. Go down to the huge white space right below the “Enter title here” box and paste the code from earlier here. Go down the page a little bit and look to the right, where it says “Page Attributes”. Under the “Parent” drop down menu, select your columnist’s name.(If you can’t find his/her name, just choose “Columnists”) Go down a line to “Template” and choose “Page – No Title”. Go back up to the title and there should by an URL right below the title. Copy the URL and click on “Publish”, which should be right above “Page Attributes”.
Once again, go back to the tool kit on the very left of our wordpress page and select “Users”. Go to “All Users” and find your columnist’s name. Click on “Edit” right below the name of your columnist. Go down to the very bottom of the page, where it says “Expert Page URL” and paste the URL from before here.(Make sure it ends with the columnist’s name instead of /) Click on “Update User” and our work is done here.
