Travel somewhere alone. The best way to learn about yourself is to be alone with yourself.

Go on more road-trips. Sometimes the best getaways are right in your backyard.

 Go camping.

Go somewhere you know very little about. This for me in 2015 is going to be Turkey.

Go somewhere where you don’t speak a lick of their native language, Brazil perhaps?

Do something you’ve never done. Why not go to Morocco and ride camels through the Sahara Desert?

Go somewhere outside of your typical holiday destination. Yes, Cancun will still be there next year.

Go somewhere and turn off your cell phone-hmm, but that’s just crazy, right?

Go somewhere and don’t post any pictures on social media-just be there, in the moment.

Do a stay-cation! A layover vacation in laymen terms. You book a long layover on purpose and get to see a country without spending any money on the plane ticket to that destination. For example, I once had a 15-hour layover in Singapore coming from Thailand on my way back to the US. It was just the right amount of time to leave my luggage at the airport for a small fee, take the public transportation into Raffles and eat some famed Singaporean Chili Crab. *Almost all countries allow at least a 72-hour layover, and many even 90 days, without a visa.
