I got an email from a recruiter who saw that I was a residential adviser and said that they would love to meet and talk with me about Teach For America. So, I went and talked to her and she kind of opened my eyes to the education system in the United States and how there is this gross inequity. Basically, 1 in 3 kids in poverty won’t graduate high school. It’s just ridiculous. Based off of race, social, and economical class is what’s going to determine whether or not you are going to get a quality education and I think that’s unfair. As of now, I kind of needed a stepping stone in my life because I don’t know where I see myself in ten years, and I think that giving back for a while is a good option right after college.”
