A hiker was walking with her dog on Royal Arch Trail on Wednesday off-leash when the dog decided to chase after a squirrel. In the chase, the dog fell into a rockslide area slope, but did not receive any life-threatening injuries. Open Space and Mountain Parks Rangers and Boulder County Emergency Services rescuers were able to get the dog back on the trail quickly, where the dog was happily reunited with its owner.
