Prosperity Teachings of Ernest Holmes

January 26th, 2015

“Every business, every place, every person, everything has a certain mental atmosphere of its own. This atmosphere decides what is to be drawn to it. For instance, you never saw a successful man who went around with an atmosphere of failure. Successful people think about success. A successful man is filled with that subtle something which permeates everything that he does with an atmosphere of confidence and strength. In the presence of some people we feel as though nothing were too great to undertake; we are uplifted; we are inspired to do great things; to accomplish; we feel strong, steady,... Read More

Playing To Your Strengths

January 19th, 2015

I talk a lot of about creating habits and persevering through any and all adversity. It is extremely important to develop strong habits to help you persevere when things get tough, but what is equally important is self-awareness and putting yourself in a great environment. When I talk about self-awareness, I mean understanding yourself at an incredibly deep level. Understanding what you enjoy and what you naturally have an affinity for. I spent 4 -1/2 years in Engineering school and while I learned a ton and enjoyed a lot of aspects of engineering, I knew deep down that it was not a good career... Read More

Physics – Trajectory and Inertia

January 12th, 2015

In the world of Physics, trajectory is used to describe the curve or path of travel for an object. In a perfect environment, take space or a vacuum (a controlled environment immune to any outside forces) for example, the object will remain perfectly on its path of trajectory, indefinitely. It will never alter unless it is subject to some sort of external force. Think about that. If you throw a rock into space, and that rock does not come in contact with any debris, gravitational pull or atmospheric influences, its path of trajectory will continue forever in a predictable pattern. You could fast... Read More

It’s Time to Ditch Your New Year’s Resolutions

January 5th, 2015

I would be lying if I said that I did not get excited for each and every New Year. It is a chance to reset, refocus and make changes. It is a chance to step back in the batter’s box for another at-bat. It is a chance to pick yourself up off the canvas after being knocked down. So why are New Year’s resolutions such an absolute waste of your time? First of all, making changes in your life and setting goals is not a waste of your time. It is the absolute best possible use of your time. If you do not know what your goals are in life, you will drift aimlessly, never really accomplishing anything;... Read More

What Are You Gonna Do About It?

December 22nd, 2014

Imagine looking across the ring to the opposite corner. You are seconds away from the opening bell. You are trembling. You are nervous. Your opponent is Mike Tyson – “Iron Mike”. Probably the most ferocious heavyweight fighter to ever set foot in the ring. He is a predator. He attacks people in the ring. His eyes are penetrating the depths of your soul. You have a distinct feeling that he wants to severely injure you. He does. Tyson has not fought in years, but he is still a fighter. The aggressiveness that took him to the top of the boxing world is still very apparent – even in interviews,... Read More

Get the Bat Off Your Shoulders

December 8th, 2014

The count is 2 and 2 as you dig in to the batter’s box. The bat is firmly resting on your right shoulder. Your hands are loosely gripping the 33-inch wooden Louisville Slugger. You feel the viscosity of the pine tar between your palms. You feel the muscles in your legs clutching as the pitcher starts his wind up. You stride towards the mound as the pitcher releases the ball. The ball appears to be a fastball heading towards the outside corner. It appears to be ball 3. It’s too close to risk. Something inside of you prevents you from starting your swing as the ball pops into the catcher’s... Read More

Victory Lap

December 1st, 2014

Now it is time to give a wave to the crowd and shake your opponent’s hand. He fought a good fight but you were too mentally strong for him to overcome. The crowd is chanting your name again. The crowd saw you get knocked down. They saw you get back up. They admire you for that. Your victory tonight was earned. You faced so many challenges and never lost faith in your goal. It powered you through the tough moments and helped you maintain your intensity when the momentum was on your side. The lessons you learn in the boxing ring are the same that can be applied in all other areas of your life.... Read More

Fear Less Until You Are Fearless

November 24th, 2014

“Fear creates its own self-fulfilling dynamic – as people give in to it, they lose energy and momentum. Their lack of confidence translates into inaction that lowers confidence levels even further, on and on.” – Robert Greene – The 50th Law Fear, the internal mechanism that protected us from predators for thousands of years, is preventing us from reaching our full potential today. Fear is a creator, an exaggerator, and a story-teller. It creates roadblocks between us and our full potential. It strips away our confidence and replaces it with timidity. Fear tells that we are... Read More

4 Reasons You Do Not Want Mr. Rogers As Your Neighbor

November 17th, 2014

Fred Rogers, the loveable man that we all remember watching on his PBS Show “Mr. Rogers” always asked his viewers if they would be his neighbor. I would have no problem living next door to Mr. Rogers but that is not enough. He is brimming with energy, positivity and an unmatched enthusiasm for life. Mr. Rogers would make a much better best friend, business partner or even father. Here are 4 reasons why you don’t want Mr. Rogers as (just) your neighbor: Thieves stole his car – then returned it: This is hard evidence that Mr. Rogers was a boss. He was intimidating and people knew not to... Read More

I Am The Greatest

November 10th, 2014

This is a tribute to “The Greatest” boxer and inspiration of all time. He was once recorded as having an IQ of 78. His response was, “I said I was the prettiest, not the smartest.” His remarkable intelligence was immeasurable and stretched far beyond the realm of a simple IQ test. At 22 years old, he knew things that the brightest minds in the world did not know. He understood the power of thoughts and how to transform them into reality. He understood the law of attraction. He understood psychology. He understood that confidence could be developed and self-doubt could be crushed with the... Read More
