Faces of Boulder – Martin

Martin is a motivational speaker for the organization Save the Children, and also works with Art from Ashes. He writes and performs poetry for Art from Ashes, which specializes in empowering the youth. Martin says, “I wanted to give back, and I believe one of the best causes is for children because they’re shaping the future.” Martin doesn’t quit there, he also is working on writing a book and an album! Kay is originally from Milan, Italy and moved to the Boulder in 2006. Before coming to Boulder, she lived in Pennsylvania, California, St. Louis and many other places. She was adopted, which was what prompted her move to the U.S., but, “if I wasn’t adopted I would want to come to America to experience the different cultures and people. Faces of Boulder – Cory

Cory is from Bowling Green, Ohio, but is staying in Boulder for the summer. He is partaking in leadership training for YMCA of the Rockies. “Boulder is much bigger than Bowling Green which was a little bit of a shock, but I definitely love the town,” Cory said. He wants to go back to school and possibly study theology. He really enjoys history as well, especially religious history. Faces of Boulder – Kirt

Kirt is a Colorado native, and has lived all around the State, but finds himself coming back to Boulder for multiple reasons. Six years ago he suffered a terrible brain injury, causing him to lose everything. He was living in a tent in Adams County for a while, then found a home with a lady in Lafayette for four and a half years. He started to seek out social security, and was able to get Social Security Disability Insurance in Boulder because of his brain injury.
