Motivational Monday – Friendship: The best holiday investment you can make!

December 12th, 2022

Humans are social beings. There are hundreds of scientific studies that prove this to be true.  I believe that that our desire for social acceptance along with a desire to be loved, are the core intrinsic motivators for most of our behavior.  I love socializing which is one of the reasons I enjoy the holiday season so much.  At a holiday party this weekend I met a woman who told me about a study that was done at the University of Kansas to determine how long it takes for friendships to develop. The article states: “In a new report published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships,... Read More

The Fuel to YOUR Fire

October 8th, 2021

We all possess a secret power deep within us. This secret power has the ability to create and manifest anything that we want in our lives. It is an unlimited catalog that we can place “orders” with, whenever we want. It will give us anything that we want, we just have to ask. Maybe it is wealth, success, new cars or just happiness – whatever it is we can have it. Period. So how do we unleash this power? Visualization. Visualization is the fuel to our internal-fire. Visualization is our connection to an infinite supply of wisdom, creativity and wealth. The Universe is always working to give... Read More

The 19 Greatest Muhammad Ali Quotes

September 9th, 2021

“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” –Ali “Inside of a ring or out, ain’t nothing wrong with going down. It’s staying down that’s wrong.” –Ali “It’s the lack of faith that makes people afraid of meeting challenges, and I believe in myself.” –Ali “Champions aren’t made in... Read More

Just Give Up Already – 3 Easy Ways to Become a Great Quitter

March 29th, 2021

We all have goals, dreams, visions and things that we would like to accomplish. I hope. I am surely wrong. Some people will drift aimlessly their entire life – allowing their negativity to become their reality. These people have not really given up on their dreams, they don’t really have any to begin with. If you have no desire to attain something you cannot fail. That is a safe way to have a terrible life. This blog is targeting people who actually do have goals and dreams. They have things that they DO want to accomplish. This blog is for you. All the people who are fighting every day to... Read More

Ownership – The Only True Power

November 1st, 2020

“When you work for others, you are at their mercy. They own your work; they own you. Your creative spirit is squashed. What keeps you in such positions is a fear of having to sink or swim on your own. Instead you should have a greater fear of what will happen to you if you remain dependent on others for power. Your goal in every maneuver in life must be ownership, working the corner for yourself. When it is yours, it is yours to lose – you are more motivated, more creative, more alive. The ultimate power in life is to be completely self-reliant, completely yourself.” – Robert... Read More

Fully-focused, Man.

August 21st, 2020

“I’m fully-focused, man, my mind on my money, my money on my mind, got a mill’ out the deal, and I’m still on the grind.” 50-cent Have you ever been completely “in the zone”? What does that feel like? You feel invincible, unbeatable and unstoppable. You are dialed-in. Nothing can distract you from the task at hand. I’ve felt this in the middle of an engineering exam. I’ve felt this on the baseball field. I’ve even felt this shooting 3-pointers in the middle of a basketball game. Nothing could stop the basketball from going in the basket. How do you recreate these feelings to... Read More

The Man. The Myth.The Legend.

July 30th, 2020

I was almost done. I knew I had to “pitch” my idea to somebody who had been there before. Someone who had successfully done it. Someone who had navigated this treacherous and unfamiliar territory. I knew just the guy. About a year and a half ago, I decided to start writing a column for About Boulder while I diligently worked on my first book, in addition to several of my own personal blogs. As I neared completion of my book project, I starting to get excited. I knew I had put in the hours and had a very solid foundation built for my entry into the world of authorship. I was proud... Read More

1 > 0

July 26th, 2020

I watched a video a couple weeks ago by Gary Vayerchuk. He is a very successful entrepreneur, author, etc. I honestly don’t know a lot about him, but he seems like a pretty cool dude. He created a video that talked about the struggle he faced in building his business. He is world renown now, but it wasn’t always that way. Vaynerchuk has millions of followers but nobody knows of his early struggles. Nobody knows of the battle he faced in building his millions of followers. The concept that he talked about that was so appealing to me was called, “1 is greater than 0”. He said that if one... Read More

Ancient Grains but Modern Thinking: Purely Elizabeth Sets a Standard for More than Granola

July 6th, 2020

A kooky philosophy professor of mine used to refer to foods that were vegan, gluten free, and free of refined sugar as “morally pure”. Though he was being a bit silly and facetious, the word “purely” captures perfectly the ingredients, mission and values, and intentions of the now Boulder-based natural food company, Purely Elizabeth. In 2008, Elizabeth Stein was a nutrition student with a dream of opening a natural foods/nutrition company like Nucific and moving out west: the manifest destiny of someone hoping to change the game of healthy gluten-free, vegan foods forever.... Read More

Open Yourself Up

“You’re off to great places, Today is your day. Your mountain is waiting, So get on your way!” -Dr. Suess Let’s talk about woo-woo today. I’m going to be more abstract than usual, but I want to dance in this critical topic. In circles of the community, I’ve been flabbergasted that the community rejected the idea of woo-woo. Definition? Woo-woo is what cannot be measured, an idea of spiritual forces that cheer us on to succeed. A magic in the air that aligns our outer life with our inner feelings, desires, and motivations. I’ve heard much judgment and denial about how there can’t... Read More
