Meet Miles! Miles is a senior at CU expecting to graduate this December with a journalism degree!  After graduation he plans on moving to Steamboat for the rest of winter, and hopes to land a job in Denver in the spring.  He is currently interning for the local company Global Dance Music which hosts events such as club nights at Beta and various festivals.  He enjoys music blogging and hopes he can continue in this career path after college.  He is particularly fond of electronic/EDM music and by blogging hopes he can dispel some of the negative stereotypes associated with the genre. “Electronic... Read More

Meet Naomi! Naomi was born in Israel, but her and her family have been living in Boulder for the past 17 years.  She is currently a student at CU and is enrolled in the pre-law program and is also double majoring in studio arts.  She has aspirations of going to law school and eventually being able to help juveniles who are getting taken advantage of in the system.  Naomi uses her majors simultaneously by primarily creating political art that draws in conversations that lie outside of the art world.   **pictures from the artist coming soon!  Read More

Meet Mercedes! She is a fourth grade teacher and decided to take a small (much needed) weekend vacation to Boulder! Meet Rob! Visiting from Texas, Rob was in Boulder this weekend visiting his daughter who is currently a senior at CU.  They were at Cottonwood Farms in east Boulder checking out the corn maze and picking pumpkins this weekend. Rob tries to make the trip to Boulder at least once a year and says that the college town atmosphere reminds him of being a student at the University of Texas about 30 years ago.  Being his fourth time in the city, Rob is nearly a native and is truly a proud Buff Dad.  Read More

Meet Sydney! Sydney is a Miami native, but her family has been in Boulder for the past six years.  A senior at Fairview, Sydney has been looking at colleges in the Pacific Northwest to continue her education.  She is interested in Art History and Museum Studies and currently works at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMOCA) to get a start in her future career.  BMOCA is currently working on their event called “Halloweenies” set to debut this Friday!   Targeted for a younger crowd, BMOCA is trying to get kids involved and interested in local art!  Read More

Meet Spencer! Spencer is a Boulder native who is studying Political Science at CU.  With the hype of the 2016 election brewing, Spencer has put his knowledge and passion to the test by joining the Buffs for Bernie group on campus as the organizing director. This organization provides opportunities for students to get engaged in politics and understand more about the candidates and their views.  Open to any political affiliation, Buffs for Bernie hosted a viewing party last night for the first Democratic Debate! Meet Mango! Mango is a 10 month old kitten who was enjoying some time outside before the rain today.  She was adopted from PetCo in June and has been the center of attention ever since.  Her owner noticed that Mango would often be perched at the window of his apartment and try to dart outside when the door was open; so he decided that getting a leash would be a happy medium.  Though Mango still does not quite grasp how “walks” work yet, she seems happy and playful when she is outside!  Read More

Meet Connor! A San Francisco native, Connor came to Boulder to study Political Science at CU.  Connor is on track to graduate early this December, and plans to use his degree to get a job working on a political campaign for the 2016 presidential election! Meet Ben! Ben is a Denver native currently studying Studio Arts and Literature at the University of Colorado.  Ben is an advanced Ceramics student and was installing his piece to prepare for the first art critique of the semester.  Over the past few weeks he has spent numerous hours and many pounds of clay to create a Chimera.  Chimera’s are Greek mythological beasts that are part lion, goat, and snake.  Ben has always been fascinated by Greek myths and decided to recreate one of the most interesting creatures in his own image.  Being nearly 4 feet long, Ben’s biggest struggle... Read More

Meet Jade! Jade is from Lyons, Colorado but is living in Boulder while earning his Art and Japanese degrees.  Jade says that his degrees are very complimentary because he can use his knowledge and technique from Japanese to enhance his art and vice versa!  Jade’s focus in art is mainly painting and drawing and uses watercolors to achieve his Japanese inspired aesthetic.  His work is arranged in a style much like comic books, however excludes dialog to leave room for interpretation. Meet Amanda! Emily is working for her sister’s local honey business called “Lazy Bee Ranch.”  This honey company prides itself on using raw and natural flavors to create their delicious honeys!  Based out of Hudson, CO; Emily estimates that they own about 400 colonies of bees in not only Hudson but also in Lafayette and near Fort Collins.  Emily’s sister Katie is the beekeeper as well as the owner, while Emily takes part in making the “whipped” honey.
